Because the response to The Month of Letters Challenge has been so amazing, I thought it would be beneficial to have a place for letter writers, postcard senders, and package mailers to gather and exchange electronic notes about their experience. Is that counter-intuitive?

At first blush, perhaps, but The Month of Letters is not about turning our back on the 21st Century. It's about finding out what the older technology of postal mail can do for us, which no other form can. Ideally, we would gather for tea and chat over our discoveries. This forum serves as a surrogate for the ability to gather in person.

Good thinking MaryRobinette! :)
In my opinion the aim of this challenge is to connect the people also.
Of course, especially in the old fashioned way - thru the snail mail!

Nice to have the odd bit of mail in the post box. Since we pay bills online, not even those to look forward to! Thanks for setting this up for all to use, Mary Robinette.

I think that this has been a great idea and I find myself connecting with old friends and making new acquaintances. It would be too bad to let a good thing go. So this month we have a month of letters, perhaps next month could be a month of world connections. Each person could be asked to say what country they're from (I wouldn't think that would cause privacy problems) and make it easier for participants to connect globally. Thanks for all of your efforts in creating this web site.
