The Date

    There are different customs for writing the date in numbers. Today is 01/02/2017 for me, but for some of you, that date is 2nd of January. So, please, write out the name of the month.

    I usually write out the month after the date, which is contrary to local custom, but I think it looks more elegant. 2 February, 2017
    I think I picked up the convention from books I read when I was younger.

    I have written the month in alphas since my husband is American and I could not make out which date he was writing. I call it my universal date so everyone can read it lol

    @medusasmirror I do that as well. I also tend to write the receipt date on the envelope somewhere as well as the date I sent a reply so I don’t orphan anything.
