This will be a catch-up report. The first few days I either forgot to report or fell asleep before I got around to it; then high winds brought a branch down on the wires from the utility pole to the house so I was without Internet for a week aside from brief sessions taking advantage of wifi in the town hall parking lot or at my LetterMo buddy’s house. So: to date I have sent at least one piece of mail every day, about equal numbers of note cards (usually with additional pages) and postcards, and one package. One of the cards went to my sister-in-law in Thailand. I sent a birthday card and a Valentine. Most of the mail has gone to friends, and all but one of those envelopes had artwork of some kind.
I’ve also sent the following to people I don’t know personally: a postcard to Celestial Seasonings, telling them I like their teas but think their new package designs are boring and look too much like many of the other brands on the shelves; a postcard to Moosejaw, telling them I greatly appreciate their shipping speed, return policy and general goofiness; and copies of the same letter to Governor Cuomo and to my state senator and assembly member, telling them how disappointed and embarrassed (but unsurprised) I was that not one of them has signed the Clean Conscience Pledge and urging that they do so.
Now I’ll see if I can get credit for my achievements, even without daily reporting…
