Introduce yourself to this year’s LetterMo participants! Where are you writing from? What are you most excited about for LetterMo 2024?

I’m Denise. I participated in LetterMo a few years ago and loved it but suddenly developed an allergy that affected my skin, especially the skin on my fingers. Soooo, letter writing had to be put aside for quite awhile as I learned what I reacted to and developed ways to manage the allergy. My hands are better now, much better, and I’m so excited to join LM again!
I’m in my early 60s and live on Galveston Island in Texas. I love animals, especially cats, books, cooking, and coffee.
I hope to make some new friends and welcome letters, notes, and post cards from anyone!

Hello, Peppermint tea is my favourite hot drink, and I am writing from Ireland, where it can be misty, especially near the sea.
Originally I am from Germany, but I have been living in Ireland since 2012.
Letter writing came back into my life a couple of years ago when I really needed a break from technology and screens. Now I often go to coffee shops, get out my stationery and start writing letters by hand. While I continue to write to my regular penpals, I love the randomness of meeting new people who want to do this too. It’s great to be able to combine new technologies with old-school pen and paper.
Happy writing everyone!-

Hello! I’m Renée writing from Kansas, USA, which is in the middle of the country. I’ve done several LetterMos and I love how much love my mailbox gets during the month and how many new pen friends I make. It’s so much fun!
I can’t believe we’re only a month and a half from February! I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

HI Everyone – Hey Renée -I’m in Kansas, too! I’ve been participating in LetterMO for as long as it’s been a thing. I love February for this. Happy Holidays!

Greetings, I’m Deshantha from South Africa, and I’ll be writing from Ontario, Canada, which I now call home. I’m most excited to connect with fellow pen friends I met through previous LetterMos and send loads of happy mail. This is my third year participating, and hopefully, I will make a few more pen pals from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to help keep my mailbox busy all year round. All the best to everyone participating in LetterMo 2024!

I’m not sure yet if I’ll officially throw my hat in the ring, but I’ve been a lettermoer since 2012. I am currently reorganising old correspondence and have come across several letters from that LM, and subsequent ones. I’m still at the same address (in Wales/UK), if anyone who has written to me before does want to send anything.

Hello from Ontario, Canada. This is my first year with LetterMo, I came across InCoWriMo in mid-February last year but it was too late to participate. I was so excited when I discovered LetterMo through the Postcrossing forum a few days ago! I’m very happy to be here, and looking forward to participating in 2024. I love writing letters, and collecting all the paraphernalia that goes along with that 🙂 I find it gratifying to write and post my letters and absolutely love the happiness of receiving happy mail in my mailbox.

Hi everyone!! I just found out about this site and program through Postcrossing which I started earlier this year. I’ve enjoyed antique shopping my whole life but the scavenger hunt of finding vintage cards tucked away in booths makes it extra exciting! It’ll be my first time participating and I’m really looking forward to taking the next month to collect lots of cards. I have no clue what to expect but I cannot WAIT to connect with all of you! Getting and sending postcards has definitely become my favorite hobby, I just can’t keep my mailbox full enough so I’m really really excited!

Hello, I am Amy from Central Ohio, USA (about 1/2 way between New York City and Chicago). I’ve done Letter Writing Month in the past but not recently – I want to get back into sending and receiving letters. I also collect postcards (and have been a member of PostCrossing for a number of years). I enjoy reading, crafting, traveling, and spending time in nature, especially near large bodies of water (Grew up near the Great Lakes). I will respond to letters I receive and I hope to become pen pals with year-round writers.

Hi, I am Saskia, writing from Berlin, Germany. I’ve been a passionate letter writer for a long time, but only last year took it to a new level and started searching for more penpals from all around the world. I am glad about all the people and stories I got to know this way 🙂 Also started postcrossing this year for a greater variety – and am now excited to participate here for the first time!
I am mostly interested in a few more contacts for letter month – but who knows, maybe we get along too well and want to continue the conversation.
Please take a look at my profile and send me a friend request if it speaks to you 🙂 Have a great day! -

This will be my first year with Postcrossing and LetterMo. I am very excited to meet people from around the world through this unique format. I hope you are able to access my profile and photo. In brief, I am a happily retired woman who has been married to my female partner for 32 years. We live in a beautiful northern California community. I love to quilt, read, organize, travel, volunteer within our LGBTQ community of older adults, play Chinese Mah Jong and American Canasta. Recently we learned Euchre, a great card game. We are quite social, enjoying new friendships and friends of many years. We own a beautiful standard poodle that we showed to her AKC Grand Championship.
I hope to write you and receive letter in return during February.-

I am Cristina, writing from the Philippines. This will be my first time to do LetterMo. But I have been doing Postcrossing since 2021, and I have been an avid letter writer all my life. I have maintained very close friendships to this day from the pre-social media era and I attribute it to letter writing. I am looking forward to the pleasant surprises that LetterMo will have to offer.

Hey Hi Hello! This is my first time both in Postcrossing and LetterMo! I’m from Colorado, which is still new to me. We only moved here a few months ago and have found that PostCrossing and exchanging letters has helped reduce my anxiety with this big move.
I’m an avid reader, passionate about education and a life long learner, and recently started watching movies as a hobby with my husband using The Fill In Filmigraphy from Popchart. -

Hello everyone! Writing from the Pacific Northwest. This is my first time participating, and I am so excited to get to know some new people. I am an avid letter, card, postcard writer with pen-pals all over the world. I participate in Postcrossing and write letters each month to people on LoveForOurElders and MoreLoveLetters. There is just something very special about writing out a letter/card, addressing it, finding stamps (I love older stamps so my mail usually has a bunch on it!), decorating the envelope, etc. And a full mailbox is always welcome! I hope you all have a great 2024, and I hope to see you in my mailbox!

Hello, I’m Leese and I live in Mass. I look forward to doing the letter challenge every year! I started writing to my first penpal who lived in Ohio when I was seven years old, and letters have been an important part of my life ever since. I am hoping to find some long term committed penfriends who handwrite their letters, and who love the process of writing as much as I do! I am “a little” crazy about stationery and fountain pens, and I enjoy all kinds of art and craft, especially drawing with oil pastels. Please do contact me if you are interested in corresponding. That would be awesome! Blessed holiday wishes to all!

Hello, I’m Emma and I’m also writing from Massachusetts in the US 😀 I just started with Postcrossing in 2023 as I was looking for a letterwriting group to join. Then, when I heard about LetterMo I thought it’s be another great way to write even more letters! I have one close friend who I still exchange letters with, but with most of my other friends it’s digital correspondences. I’m enjoying the opportunity to write and mail even more letters, though. I’ve got quite a bit of stationary saved up that I’m excited to use in this Letter Writing Month. I’m a big traveler and will be traveling for a bit in February in Ireland, but I plan on still dropping off letters even while abroad. I would love to hear about others’ traveling experiences, their books (most or least favorite), their hobbies, or their plans for the future. Please contact me if you’d like to correspond together 🙂

I just moved to New Hampshire from Massachusetts and, oh my goodness I miss my home state! I’ve been away from letter writing for a couple years but now that I know how to keep a fireplace running I think the rest of the winter (seems like it might last until late April up here) will be devoted to sitting in front of said fire and writing.

Hi! I’m Michele and I’ve been doing Lettermo for a couple of years now and looking forward to doing it again this year. I’ve enjoyed the letters from all over the world and don’t mind if we just send letters during the month, or if we keep up the communication long after lettermo is over. I try to post my lettermo activities on my Instagram account. I am also a Postcrosser. I have a few hobbies besides letter writing, my biggest one being reading. I also do photoediting, dabble in photography, and am the fur mom to a 9 month old German Shepherd puppy named Zeena.

Hi! 🙂 My name is Kseniia, I am 24 years old. I found out about this project through postcrossing and I can’t wait to get involved and start writing letters! 🙂 I was engaged in postcrossing for many years during my school years, I did not have to take breaks for personal reasons such as studying at the university to become a civil engineer 🙂 I love reading and watching detective stories, I paint oil paintings, I love traveling and I dream of seeing the whole world! 🙂 I really like to learn something new and I will be glad to receive your letters (and I hope that you will be glad to receive my letters). I also collect banknotes and coins from different countries 🙂 I am looking forward to the beginning of the month of letters so that I can make friends with everyone through the mail! 🙂

Hello from Scotland! My name is Madhura and this is my first time participating. I’m an Indian living in Scotland for the last 12 years. Mum to a 14 year old and wife to a workaholic IT consultant. I work full time from home. When am not working, I read a lot of books – mostly murder mystery and thrillers. Agatha Christie is my favourite author. I have been penpalling for the last 7 years. I am also on Postcrossing. Apart from letter writing, I love to walk in the nearby beautiful woods, lift weights, travel, cook, binge watch movies/series on Netflix/Prime, you name it. Looking forward to writing more letters!

Hello everyone! My name is Karen. This is my second LetterMo to participate in and I am excited for special focus in February. I had an interruption last year in my penpal writing in the fall and am ready to get to writing again with winter upon us. I am in eastern Pennsylvania in the US with some big snows predicted for this weekend. I have been Postcrossing for the last year as well which is super fun! Many fun hobbies – yarn and paper crafting, building kits, gardening and indoor plants, reading, cooking, movies, walking, coffee, bird watching, my pets.
I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi Everyone! I’m writing from Toronto, Ontario (Canada) and this will be my third LetterMo. I’ve truly enjoyed it in the past and look forward to this year! I’m into writing letters, postcards, exchanging art mail and everything in between. I’ve happily continued corresponding with some pen pals year round, and also understand if you prefer to write only in February. Hi all, I am Jess, writing from Belgium. This is my first ever LetterMo, but I have been penpalling ever since I was a kid. I am very much looking forward to meeting new friends! Of course, I do understand if you only want to write in February, but I hope to find some new penpals here. I love writing, baking vintage recipes, I collect vintage cook books and handwritten vintage recipes, I dance burlesque and I read a lot. Besides that, I’m 38 going on 39 and I am married with 3 kids.

Hi, I’m Diana from Melbourne, Australia I’m a 60 year old Library Technician at the local high school. I’ve participated in LetterMo a few times and have been a Postcrosser for nearly 6 years. Late last year I joined the Australian team at Postcards to the Front. We write postcards to front line military personnel and medical crews in Ukraine. I find that very rewarding even though we write knowing we will never receive a response.
I found my first penfriend in 1973 and we are still in contact. We met IRL in 2014 and that was truly one of the happiest days of my life. We have grown up together through the post.
I love to read, do cross stitch embroidery, make quilts and I am an avid op shopper/thrifter. I love everything about snail mail except the snails in my mailbox who are eating up my mail. I also love cats and have one very spoilt rescue, Primrose.- This reply was modified 9 months ago by Diana.

So excited for LetterMo! I have participated in InCoWriMo previously, but being a busy mom – I haven’t made it all the way through the month – this year however, I am ready and will be writing back everyone who writes to me!
I am a mom to 2 teenage boys, one of whom just started driving (!!) and will be writing from Las Vegas, NV. My husband is an IT consultant and I contract for a few various types of clerical/data entry jobs and I love it! I love reading, writing, lettering, crafting, photography, generally being creative. I am recently getting back into cross-stitching and love learning new crafty things. Last year I taught myself macrame! I love paper and pens and stationary in general. I also love to send different stickers, ephemera, pockets of papers when I send out mail. Love watching TV and movies – lots of variety there, but nothing gruesome – I’m just not into it – haha! Anyway – would love to hear from you!
-
2024-01-05 at 10:04 am #2018
It is so great that macrame is coming back! After finding an old macrame book from the 1970s in a storage box, it has become one of my favorite hobbies. I recently finished my first handbag, and really want to try macraweave!
-
2024-01-10 at 11:54 am #2062
How fun! I think a handbag would be difficult! I just have made a few ornaments – some super cute little Christmas trees and then a small wall-hanging. Everything I see is so pretty!

Hello everyone! I am really looking forward to making some new friends! I am a mother to 2 teenagers, married to a great man, and we live basically south of Canada in the midwest USA. 🙂 I love writing letters, playing music, writing music, making people smile, and finding new great music to listen to. I love to travel. Am trying to learn new languages, and love to cook. I just love meeting new people and learning everything I can about this world we live in 🙂 Feel free to add me as friend! Cheers! – Sara

Hey y’all! This is my first time doing LetterMo, or any pen pal group for that matter. Although I’m introverted, no one other than my close family and friends would know it. I’m fiercely loyal, protective of my loved ones, and never afraid to stand up for what’s right, and for those who can’t stand for themselves. I love meeting new people, learning about world cultures, and one day hope to travel the world. I had a very wild and colorful life in my younger years but have settled down quite a bit with age ????. I love history and reading. I only cook well enough to feed my family ????. I hate cleaning but hate being in messy surroundings more (so I clean out of necessity). I like hot chocolate, peppermint tea, 90s hip hop & R&B, nostalgia, mystery books and movies, and if I could do life over I would’ve been a historian.
Pleased to meet you!

Hello everyone!
My name is Marina. I am 46 (though much younger at heart :)) and live in Sweden. I am married but no kids. I have two jobs: I am a language teacher and I am also a bodycombat instructor in a local gym. I love both my jobs, and they both have to do with people. However, strange enough, I am sort of an introvert and after meting lots of people in my line of work, I need my time out, so I enjoy all kinds of quiet hobbies, penpalling included. I also love deco’s, sudoku, diamond painting and cooking healthy meals. I welcome all chatty letter writers worldwide, who enjoy the feeling of opening a full mailbox and getting news from abroad! 🙂 -

Tomorrow is my 51st wedding anniversary. And I was not a young bride. I’d be glad to write to anyone who can put up with my eccentricity and old age. Sometimes I can answer a letter within minutes but other times it could take months. I am bitter about human imperialism. Any random giraffe or hedgehog could be a better politician than members of the GOP. I want to avoid bitter tirades, so I have some topics that excite me: literature, cats, music. If you like Jane Austen, you can find my character in Mr Woodhouse. I keep having to sequester my inner Miss Bates.
If you want to write to me, you can use one of these ideas:
1). What voices excite you? I like Maria Callas, Tom Waits, Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse, Bjork, Johnny Cash. I’d like to hear your recommendations.
2) I’m looking for a fairly brief and punchy podcast or two. What do you recommend?
3). Recommend a song or two.
4). I like haiku. Issa is great but also Richard Wright and Buson, etc. Send me a short poem.
5). Tell me your life story in a six word memoir.
6). What animals are in your tribe?
7). What is life really like for you? How does it feel to be you?
8). Concoct some novel bagel topping(s) for me to try.
9) What are some of your favorite words?
10) Do you have a lesser-known favorite writer?
11). Do you have any odd crushes or obsessions? I’ve been through dozens. Right now I have a girl crush on Carrie Coon, which is odd because she could be my granddaughter chronologically. These are specific questions, but I always appreciate a nice stream-of-consciousness.

Hello from Germany! 🙂
I’m a year round writer and this is my 5th LetterMo (I think.). I’m a language lover, book worm, dog lover, board game enthusiast, half-time freelancer, and much more.I’m looking forward to february as I met many lovely people through this site. I’m not sure yet if I will actively search for pen pals myself as I have a good number, but if you think we might connect, feel free to send me a request and with a bit of luck and capacity from my side, I might accept it. 🙂
Have a great LetterMo! 🙂

Hello everyone! My name is Jessica, and I currently reside in Phoenix, Arizona, in the southwestern USA. I’ve been doing Lettermo off and on since 2015ish. I took a break for a few years but came back halfway through lettermo 2023 and I’m so happy I did. Always happy to meet new penpals and develop pen friendships and keep correspondence going year round. Also open to people who just want postcards now and again and are willing to send postcards about adventures. 🙂
I’m female, in my mid-30s, I have two kittens who are still young and who are my delightful fuzzy agents of chaos, I’ve been living in the southwest for 10.5 years now but was born and raised on the East Coast of the USA… I love photography, outdoors everything (I hike, I peakbag, I backpack, I run, I bike, I triathlon and I running race), travel, crochet, fountain pens (and have more inks than a person could ever use in one lifetime), loose leaf tea (and I like coffee too), gardening and houseplants, music, cooking… the list goes on. I am sure there is something we can connect on! Just drop me a line and we’ll let the correspondence unfold.
Happy to be here and looking forward to writing, continuing pen friendships with my current pen pals, meeting new people, and hopefully making some new lasting pen friendships. 🙂

Agents of chaos! Love that! I added you and I hope you’ll accept. I also have some agents of chaos at home. It’s amazing how they make you forgive them over and over, right?

Hi everyone,
I’m Katy from Ontario, Canada and I have been writing to pen pals for a year now. I love receiving letters and hearing about different lifestyles, holidays, countries, and traditions. I also love receiving post cards and usually include Canadian post cards with my letters. I am a fur mom to a lovely French Bulldog and listen to 90’s music all the time. I am a public servant working in healthcare administration and I love it!
Looking forward to LetterMo! -

Hello! New to this challenge, but long time lover of letter writing. This is so exciting! I’m Kandace, I’m from Kentucky in the United States, and I’m most excited about meeting new people (maybe new friends) and sending and receiving mail. It’s something I learned to love with my first penpal in elementary school, who taught me so much about her home country and the world beyond Kentucky. {Turns out it’s big :)} Looking forward to what comes!

Hi! My name is Caitlin. This is my 3rd LetterMo. I am currently helping out as the Member Relations Officer – so you might hear from me if you email or contact us. I also help run LetterMo socials.
I’m mid 30s, from the DMV, USA (DC Maryland Virginia), a tech teacher for teachers in a public high school with a former life as a Latin teacher for 9 years.
I love to read, write, lift weights, read some more, and try to life a healthy lifestyle. Demonstrator fountain pens, Kaweco Sports, and Ferris Wheel Press ink are my Achilles heel. I love food and recipes, my husband loves playing mixologist – recipes or drink concoctions welcome.
I’m most excited to reply to my LetterMo ‘22 and ‘23 pals – if you’ve been waiting for a letter, it’s coming. I’m not accepting any more new requests this year to keep LetterMo manageable for myself but feel free to give me a follow on Instagram at @barelybalancedbujo: my hobby mail, postcards, journaling, and other creative papery endeavors account.- This reply was modified 8 months, 4 weeks ago by Caitlin.

I first discovered the joys of Month of Letters in February 2013 and ever since it has been one of the highlights of my year. Unfortunately various life events (divorce after 24 years and losing the job I loved) in the past couple of years have knocked me for six and I’ve had to give it a miss but I’m now getting back to the happy Gillian I used to be and am really excited to be taking part once more and meeting lots of friends, old and new, through the awesomeness that is the world of snail mail.
As well as writing letters I also enjoy reading, hiking (doing the Walk 1000 Miles Challenge in 2024), painting and sketching ( I hope to exhibit with the Society of Feline Artists and the Society of Equestrian Artists one day!), tracing my family tree, visiting old houses and gardens, digital photography, decorating my home in a colourful boho style and I’m a lifelong obsessive gardener. Plants are my drug of choice and I am addicted to buying and growing them the way Carrie Bradshaw was addicted to shoes! To say I am aiming for a jungle would not be an exaggeration! I’m a huge nature lover too (been a keen birdwatcher since I was 13 years old!) and I love to be outdoors at every opportunity. Yet, at the same time, spending time at home curled up with a book and a cup of tea, sitting at my desk writing letters and postcards in front of the fire is also my idea of sheer bliss. 2024 is the year in which I embrace life and do everything that brings me joy and pleasure and lets me be me….whether that be with shocking pink or electric blue hair, a tattoo or two and that nose piercing I’ve always wanted to do!
I’m also a HUGE cat lover and after losing my last wee boy, Tigger, last year I’ve been absolutely lost. I plan to get another couple in a few months time or perhaps go back to fostering old and terminally-ill cats for a charity which is something I used to do between 2009 and 2015. Whatever I choose I just know I NEED cats in my life! I DO love all animals but cats have that something extra in my heart. I’d love a dog or two as well but at the moment I work full-time and know I couldn’t give a dog the time & exercise they deserve.

Hello from Kansas, USA!
I participated in LetterMo and InCoWriMo back in college about 8 years ago. My life has had its ups and downs since then, but I’m feeling more settled and would love to write letters again, hopefully to meet long-term pen pals. My goal is to write at least one letter to everyone on my LetterMo friend list so I’m open to connecting with new pen friends.
My biggest interests (what my money goes towards) are traveling, manga/anime/cartoon goods, snail mail, and art-related things. I’m also on Postcrossing, but not very active because I mostly collect blank/unwritten illustrated postcards. I do love stamped postcards from people on vacation and like to send others postcards as well, though.
This year, I plan to visit Japan, Switzerland, Belgium, and Australia. Recently I’ve bought too many vintage USPS stamps, so my outgoing mail may be covered with a lot of stamps. (This makes sending international postcards difficult because I don’t have much space.) I’m not creative or disciplined enough to be a good artist, but I like to think that I occasionally I make a gem. Still, making art is always fun.
Some of my other interests include cooking, reading, meeting new people, and talking about what-ifs and other hypothetical/philosophical scenarios. I have two cats and consider myself slightly more of a cat person, but that’s just because I don’t have a dog.
A few things I casually enjoy learning about, but have no real interest in: sports, religion, and history.
Hope to hear from some of you this year!

Hi, Ronda/Newbie here, I will be writing from Boise, Idaho. Idaho is a state that belongs to the Pacific Northwest corner of the USA in geography but not in politics. 🙁 Nonetheless, I love it here. I am excited to try LetterMo, have been Postcrossing for a blink and I am hooked.
I am retired, my time is mine. I enjoy writing, paper crafting, Junkjournaling, and some sewing–especially on paper. I am a reader, a walker, and an all-around nice person. I am a scientist to the core, embracing atheism, but enjoy the roots and practices of the world’s religions. Thrive on human stories.
Like green tea, vintage postcards, and botanical stuff. I like to see other’s art even if a rudimentary pencil drawing. Make me laugh, write to me something you don’t think you should write about. I keep excellent secrets. Surprise me.
Excited to embark on this journey with you all. Happy 2024!
Best, Ronda (pronouns per-pers or they-them)

Hello! My name is Brandy. I will try my best to write letters this year. I’ve been busy towards the end of the year of 2023 and just started doing other stuff that has been more fun.
I’ve been streaming on Twitch and uploading videos on YouTube. Which I wish to explain more later on. If you wish to write to me, you may add me. I will always reply if I am able to.

Hi! I’m new this year. I’ve been on Postcrossing for about a year and a half and have loved being on the Forum there and joining group-oriented, year-round exchanges like round robins. I’m a nerdy, outdoorsy, sciencey, artsy, LatinX gal who’s got a solid family life (wife, kid, and cat), great boundaries, and an insatiable curiosity for understanding people’s perspectives and their unique corners of the world. Social justice is super important to me and I could chat about it all day – but I’m also happy to hear knock knock jokes and musings on the weather. If February goes well and I can keep up with it, I’d be happy to keep pen-palling during the year. But like I said – great boundaries. I don’t want to disappoint anyone so I’ll be transparent about what’s possible from the get-go. 🙂 I have a few pen-pals from Postcrossing, and I tend to send thick happy-envelopes that include a few pages of a letter or a mini-pile of postcards, each with a different topic, and some stickers or other goodies. Cheers!

I’m writing from the Pacific Northwest of the US. This is my first LetterMo and I’m still a little unclear on how it works, but am excited to give it a whirl. I enjoy music of all kinds, reading, art, sewing, knitting, laser cutting and 3D printing. And walking my dog, Mojojojo.

Hi Emily! You mentioned being unclear about the challenge – have you checked out our blog for some tips? The intro forum is a great space to find folks to send a friend request to. If you request, you write first.

Hey everyone,
Well, I signed up for this and immediately felt totally daunted by the project, but I’m sticking with it. As much as I want to be more connected to the world that I’m always observing, I also want to show my girls about actually putting these connections into action. I’m Chris, down here in Georgia (US). This is my first time doing LetterMo, or anything similar. I was a part of the Letter Writer’s Alliance back in the day, but I essentially let it go due to unreliable mail delivery. Moved a few years ago to a better place and decided it was time to try again, so here I am. I feel like learning every day is the most important way to live, and I’ll delve into pretty much any subject. The amount of nonsensical trivia that rattles around in my head is shocking. I cook every night, so food thoughts are usually close by, modern or historical. I see it as a great window into culture. And I promise to do my best to write by hand, but if I get swamped, instead of throwing up my hands, I’ll probably type out my responses. Better to have something over nothing. Thanks!

G’day I’m Jo and I live in country NSW in Australia – about 560km NW of Sydney. I’ve lost track of how many LetterMo’s I’ve participated in. Some have been more successful than others. Mail can take longer than usual to get to me – at least 2 weeks from overseas, though often it is much longer. So my LetterMo ends up lasting well into March. Letter writing has been an interest of mine since my teens. I also am an avid Cross stitcher, reader, traveller, and family historian. I look forward to lots more connections during Feb and lots more happy mail!

Hi, I am Liana and I live in Long Island, NY (close to the Big Apple) but I grew up in Germany. I’ve never been a part of this but been lurking around for years so here we are! I love writing, reading, cooking, gardening, herbalism, hanging with friends, and being creative!

Hello! I’m Brenda and I live in the Mid-Atlantic region of the USA. This is my first foray into the world of “online” pen pals. I’ve been a letter writer all my life and now hope that I can meet the challenge of sharing letters with others all over the globe. I love to learn, so tell me about you, your interests and talents, and or the area you live in. Letters. postcards, scraps of notes-any and all would be fine.
I am retired, live with 4 cats that make my day, take care of numerous indoor plants, read fiction and nonfiction, tend 14 raised beds for veggies during our growing season (mid-May thru September), sew, craft, crochet, and fight a never ending battle against clutter (currently losing). And, in spite of my osteoarthritis eating away all my joints, I join my daughters in an annual 5K on Thanksgiving (I walk, they run). I hope to start hiking more often soon; joining my older daughter in quest of the high points of all 48 contiguous states.
Looking forward to friend requests and the entire LetterMo experience.

This is my mom! 🙂 I cannot tell you all how excited I am that she has finally acquiesced to my begging and pleading for the last 5+ years that she’d be a natural fit for Lettermo, as she is a fantastic pen pal, has gorgeous handwriting, and writes detailed and thoughtful letters that I have always loved to receive. I hope to not embarrass her (sorry Mom!), but I want to both beam with pride and gush about how excited I am that she’s finally joined this community.

Hi! I’m Lisa. I’ve done LetterMo off and on over the years, but had to take a pause the last few years since I was living in China and the international mail was completely unreliable during the pandemic (some of my penpals just received letters I sent in 2021!). Now that I’m back in the US, looking forward to getting into this again. 🙂
Last year I moved to St. Louis (in the middle of the USA, on the Mississippi River), and I’m enjoying exploring this new part of the country. I enjoy traveling, reading, going to the theater (especially musicals), drinking tea, trying to find creative recipes to make with the mysterious vegetables we get from our farm share, and hanging out with our foster cats until they find their forever homes. I welcome new penpals and look forward to hearing from some of you.

While I’m not necessarily looking for ongoing correspondence (I do make exceptions), I do intend to reply to every postcard/letter I receive through this site. I am in a wet Wales (not England!), where Storm Isha had relocated my recycling boxes to the other side of the road, with contents long blown somewhere else along with other people’s recycling!
I have been a Lettermoer since 2012, and some letters through this site have developed into great on-going correspondence.
Sometimes it can be hard to decide what to write about in a letter, so here are a few questions you could answer, if you decide to write to me:
What has made you smile recently?
What is the silliest/funniest gift you’ve given (or have received)?
What was the last board game you played?
What/where did you last leap (jump)?
What was the last book you started to read but decided not to finish?- This reply was modified 8 months, 2 weeks ago by Mia.

Hiya! I just sent you a friend request because I’d be chuffed to learn more about Wales (part of my family is from there), but I get that you’re not accepting pen pals right now. Boundaries are good! But I’m here if you change your mind.

Ciao! I’m Elisa from Italy and I’m a newbie.
I just turned 40 and I am currently based in North East Italy . I’m a Naturopath and of course one of my interest is herbalism and eastern medicine .
When I’m not working I am probably somewhere reading, baking, travelling or lost somewhere with my camera.
I love train journeys and road trips, I’m a formula1 fan, I like gardening ( I am always looking for some new seeds and plants to add to my little messy balcony) and of course writing.
I’m stocking some nice stamps and nice writing paper and can’t wait to start this adventure! -

Hi everyone! I’m Bailey, and I’m brand new to LetterMo. I found it through PostCrossing, which I joined a few months ago. I’m a writer, artist, and overall just a big nerd. I’m also a huge animal lover! I’m so looking forward to meeting all new friends throughout February! 🙂

Welcome to LetterMo, Bailey! I came to it around the same time that I first started Postcrossing too and have enjoyed both for several years now. I hope that you have a great first February!

Hi – I am Jenny – brand new to both Postcrossing and LetterMo – and equally as excited about both! I think I have finally found “my people” 🙂
I live in the Pacific NW, and love being in the forest, hearing the raindrops splashing against the leaves, smelling the damp earth. Whenever I am down, I know I just need to get outside! I am a photographer of all things that interest me – which usually involves abandoned properties and rusty signs. I also love being indoors, though – doing cross stitch projects, writing letters/cards, chillin with my kitties (Bagheera and Master P), trying new recipes (nothing fancy, though….6 ingredients is probably my limit), and reading (some fiction, but mainly sociology-related non-fiction). I am open to any and all penpals/friends, and am excited to get started!-
2024-01-23 at 7:14 pm #2183
Welcome to LetterMo Jenny! We have a small contingent of us from up in the Pacific Northwest/West Coast of Canada here on LetterMo, including two of the admins–I’m one of them! I hope that you have a great first year with LetterMo and Postcrossing goes great with the challenge. When I don’t have a letter that needs to go out or don’t have time to write a long letter, I’ll do a postcard on Postcrossing.

I think I accidentally deleted my original introduction post so I’m going to re-introduce myself. 🙂 My name is Saleah and this is my first year doing LetterMo!
I’m a journalist from New Jersey, USA who reports on everything from food and culture to arts and entertainment. Some of my hobbies are watching film, reading books, going to concerts, dwelling in museums, and traveling and doing outdoorsy activities like hiking and going to the beach. I love cats, and love spending time with my family’s cat, Zoey.
Looking forward to making new friends and pen pals, hopefully for the month, and year-round.

Writing from the “big dark” in Seattle January (northwest United States). I have been writing letters to strangers since the pandemic, but love it so much I’m keeping it up. I’m living a very domestic life at the moment with children in the home, marriage and a full-time office job, but I’m contemplating a more…project based life in the not-too-distant future. I would love to travel and lean into creative pursuits. Would love to make new connections and learn what kinds of thoughts are running through the heads of someone outside my neighborhood.

Hi everyone! My name is Malika and it’s my first LetterMo. I just learned about it today, so I’m glad to get in just in time before February begins!
I’m 32 years old and I live in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. I have always enjoyed writing letters but I recently got into fountain pens and wax seals which has upped the enthusiasm in a big way. I’d love to find some new pen pals for the month and possibly long-term as well.
I’m a bookworm (my favorite author is Jane Austen, but I also love contemporary scifi/fantasy and nonfiction) and I love to write, knit/crochet/cross stitch, travel, see live theater, and eat. I’ve lived in five different countries and five different USA states, and I can’t count the countries/states I’ve visited. I speak English and Japanese well, plus a little French and German, but I can only really write in English.
Write to me and tell me about the book you read recently (or an old favorite) that you can’t stop thinking about…

Hi everyone 🙂 I’m Avery. I heard about Lettermo through Postcrossing earlier today and was very intrigued. I’m from the Southern California desert and am currently attending a local community college. I love to read, play video games, crochet, write, and more. I love cats and have many cat themed pieces of stationery. I also have experience working on stage productions and and short films… my goal in life is to have as many interesting experiences as I can. Looking forward to writing to people!

Hey everyone! I’m writing from the US.
I have been mailing things since the age of 18 when I was an exchange student in Brazil. I’m 29 now.
❤️ In terms of mail, I absolutely swoon over receiving blank handmade papers, tea, flowers/floral anything, and mail-themed images in any form. I also love things written on a typewriter!! I also ALSO love all things whimsical/fairy-vibes, night sky, wishes, etc.I’m into meditation, gardening, minimalism, yoga, literature. I have a lot of friends and love making them laugh and feel understood, preferably at once. 🙂
I’m a Virgo, so I created a spreadsheet outlining who I’m mailing on which day. I’ve got half the month covered…
**At this point, if you feel drawn to me, I’d love for you to:
1. Send me a friend request
2. Message me letting me know that you can initiate the first letter (and when, if you are taking an organized approach to this challenge lol). I will definitely write you back!I’m really excited for this mysterious month. ❤️

Hello from Wyoming! I am Caren and this is my first time doing LetterMo. My husband and I are both retired. We enjoy traveling, gardening, our 7 rescued kitties, feeding and watching the birds! I am very involved in genealogy for both my family as well as my husbands and we have traveled to many cemeteries to visit the graves of our ancestors – both in the USA as well as Europe. I have recently started paper crafting – particularly junk journals and enjoying it immensely! I send cards to approximately 60 people each holiday. I send A LOT of birthday cards. In my teens, I had a pen pal in every state! Anxious to see how this all goes!

My winter holiday card list was almost exactly 60 people this year! Here’s to other people working hard to keep the USPS in business (hahaha – sadly, the laugh/cry emoji doesn’t post on the forum) And, I’ve loved sending holiday cards and birthday cards to people since I was about 10ish years old; it made me feel so “adult” to have my own list of people to send cards to!

Hi from Scotland! I’m Sara. Lettermo first timer, long term letter writer here. Married, mum to 2 (tween & early teen) and a hand knitting designer. Aquarius. Left handed. INFJ.
I’m most excited to share some joy and smiles through the good, old-fashioned postal mail system. Making new connections comes in at a close second.
Art journaling & junk journaling are 2 ways of relaxation and escapism for me. If you would like a letter or maybe a little packet of ephemera, papers or washi tape, please reach out to me with a friend request.
Happy to post within the UK and beyond.
Also open to longer term letters after February.- This reply was modified 8 months, 1 week ago by Sara Oliver.

Hi! I’m new to this project and excited to hear from people who are just like me or nothing at all like me. I want to be exposed to new ways of thinking and being, come as you are. Everyone is interesting. I’m especially wondering if anyone is interested in sharing artistic creations of any kind. I’m a photographer, collage artist-digital and analog, poet and am always trying new things so I’ll probably add to my list soon ???? I think it would be fun to see and hear about what you do for a creative outlet. I’m not just looking for people who identify as artists, I think creativity comes in infinite forms. Would love U.S. and international pals.Pleas send me a friend request if this sparks something in you!

(waves to everyone) Happy LetterMo everyone!
I’m Melissa, a Montana native who’s found herself settled in New England. I’ll be participating from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and the commuter train that runs between them this year. I’m a married mom, crazy cat lady, cross stitcher, LetterBoxer, and long-time penpaller. I fell off letter writing due to Covid chaos and keep trying to get myself back on track. The fountain pens are clean, the stamps are purchased, and I’m hoping to be ready to go. Folks looking for one time or long-time writers are welcome.
I stumbled across LetterMo back in 2013 and keep coming back for more. Looking forward to saying hi through the mail to hopefully several of you this year! 🙂

Hi! I’m Gordon and this is my third or fourth time getting involved in LetterMo. I had a great time last year which was interrupted by a sudden need to move. (So if you’re wondering why I dropped off suddenly, that’s why. I can explain in detail via letter). I am a digital marketing consultant/coach and copywriter, and have also been published – mostly short stories, and some essays. I live with two cats in a great two-bedroom, and I’m also an avid Doctor Who aficionado. (I enjoy science fiction, mystery, Sherlock Holmes, pulp)…
and I’m looking forward to this year’s LetterMo!

Hello, I’m Francesca from Italy and I live near Milan.
Glad to be back for another LetterMo!When I was younger, I used to exchange letters with several penpals around the globe; although I am still in contact with some of them, the frenzy of our daily adult lives and faster messaging opportunities made the habit and pure joy of writing letters fade away…
Until I joined Postcrossing in 2019: this brought my love for snail mail to a higher and more sophisticated level, but random exhanges of postcards rarely result in a true friendship. I was looking for something more gratifying. Two years ago I joined LetterMo, with the hope to meet new penpals, ladies with whom I can build a human relationship and let a long-term epistolary friendship grow, swapping long letters (and postcards sometimes, but they are always too tiny for all the thoughts I want to express) about ourselves, our lives and any topic we wish to share.
Since I already have many penpals, unfortunately I cannot afford accepting all the requests I receive (both my time and my budget are limited), sorry about that – but I always selectively welcome new penpals if I think we would be a good match (I especially appreciate exchanges in a variety of languages, and from different corners of the world).
I can be a slow replier (my sense of guilt never abandons me, but my days are hectic), moreover transit times got much worse after the pandemic… anyway a reply will always come from me.
The past few months have been rough, the sense of isolation in my life is very high and my motivation for human interactions dropped significantly, but… this month will hopefully help me to get back on track with long overdue replies and a fun writing rhythm.Something more about myself:
I’m a lifetime learner.
After making music for my entire life, I’m currently studying violin.
Foreign languages play an important role in my life, both professionally and in my personal contacts. Always happy to chat and write in the eleven languages in my “collection”, but I’m interested in learning more.- This reply was modified 8 months, 1 week ago by Francesca.

Hello all. I’m back for another year. Not sure how long I’ve been participating, but I’ve made some wonderful friends during LetterMo and beyond.
I live in PA, have 2 adult kids, 5 grandkids, love sports, politics, and reading. I collect frogs. I love to get letters year round, but I admit that sometimes I might be a little slow to answer because my day job gets in the way. But I do answer everything.

Hi everyone! It’s almost time! I’ve done this for many years and I love this feeling of excitement at the beginning, like going to big party knowing you’re about to meet a bunch of cool people. I solemnly vow to respond to every piece of mail I receive but I would like to throw this disclaimer out there that I probably will not be writing long letters. Last summer I had a brain tumor. I’m recovering well but I can get tired easily and my attention span is a lot shorter than it used to be. That said, you can rely on me for small bursts of joy. I am a long time mail artist and will send you something that the mail carrier will definitely notice.
Let’s party!

Loving the new site and logo!
Sometimes I write letters from court or prison. I got married in Las Vegas and I work in the legal field. My letters may be written with fountain pen, typed on a typewriter, or even jotted on hotel notepads. Board games, making zines, and 80s/90s nostalgia make me happy. I have an accidental collection of mugs. I am trying to use up an overflowing stash of bits and ephemera so you may find things like ATCs or other randomness included with my letters. I’ve written to some people for 20 years and cherish them!
I will reply to anyone who writes and I’d be thrilled to reply well beyond February if you’d like.

Hi everyone!
This is my first time participating, I’m so looking forward to February!
I live in Sweden and have done so for about twenty years but I’m German originally. I live with my girlfriend and our two dogs plus our cat that rules the household.
I love reading and writing, notebooks, stationery, fiber arts (mostly knitting, embroidery and cross stitch), diamond painting, watching tv and scrolling through my well curated Instagram feed (full of knitting tips and cute cats) while rarely posting myself. I enjoy sci fi, like Star Trek (huge fan) for example, Marvel, Star Wars, and I’m currently reading romance books. Reading got hard so I started easy 🙂
I’m definitely looking for people to connect so please let me know if you’d like to write me or if you’d like a letter from me!

Greetings,
I am writing from Washington State in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. I discovered LetterMo at the very tail-end of it last year, but still managed to get a few letters out, a couple of whom I still correspond with. I enjoy the moment of slowing down, being present, and really thinking about what I’m saying/writing that sitting down to write out a letter provides. I also enjoy reading about what other people were saying, thinking, experiencing in that moment when they sat down to do the same.
Any age, race, religion, etc.., I would love to hear from. I have a varied assortment of interests- which you can read on my profile if you want- but I find it intriguing to hear about whatever anyone is excited or passionate about, regardless of whether it aligns with my own interests or not.
I’m looking forward to participating this year!

Hello all,
I’m Tom and I’m in central Scotland and looking to have more people to write with.
I only started pen palling and Postcrossing in late January/ early February 2023 and managed to write a great deal since then.
I’m happy to write to most people And places, but do have an interest in fountain pens, typewriters and handmade and decorated envelopes.

Hello everyone,
it seems like my previous post has disappeared on here – so I’ll quickly introduce myself once more.I am 30-something from Germany and this is not my first LetterMo. I have made great connections via LetterMo and I would like to continue this year. I haven’t seen all my pen pals from on here, yet – so if we have connected on the old platform, let me know :).
I am a huge geek and like everything from reading (Classics and fantasy) to video games to Pen and Paper and Larping. I also love historical dress, thrifting and antiques.
I like adventures – big or small – and if it is possible I will also send postcards from the destination I am at.I already bought new stationary and I am ready to write and to make new connections.
Happy writing! -

Hi all, I’m Claire from the midlands in the U.K. This is my first year doing Incowrimo/lettermo and I’m super excited. I’ve already started counting out envelopes and papers.
I’ve added a few of you as friends in the hope that I can send you a letter this month. I am only able to send out to the U.K. at the minute.
I would be so excited to hear from anyone about your daily life and routines, your thoughts, your animals, what you’ve read, played or watched recently, or indeed anything you wish to share.

Hello everyone! This is my first year participating so any tips or advice you can offer is welcomed. My name is Mar and I live in NJ with my husband, dog and 2 cats. I have always had a love for stationery. As a kid, back to school time was always my favorite because who doesn’t love new supplies? I still have lots of pens, paper, stickers, rubber stamps that I really want to put to good use. I have been mostly writing and swapping postcards for about 2 years on Postcrossing and Instagram but I am interested in writing longer letters to people. Happy to be here and good luck to everyone with their writing goals!

Hello Friends! I’m Lisa, and this is my third year?fourth year?I’ve participated in Lettermo. I always love to meet new friends via letters all over the world, and I hope to hear from you! I’m located in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I’m a lover of fountain pens, inks, and all things stationery. My dog Tootie rules my world, and I love old movies (pre 1950), Ziegfeld Follies, fashions of the 1920s and 30s, nature, animals, reading, travel, and knitting. I’m rediscovering my love for embroidery and just made the foray into beaded embroidery. I’m hooked!
Last fall I took a tumble and suffered a compound fracture of my leg which is still in the healing stages. I’m luckily able to work from home while on the mend, and I’d really love to hear from you, as being sequestered in my home can be quite dreary. Hurry up bones! Heal already! haha However, as a consequence, I’m at the mercy of loving friends and family to post my letters and pick up correspondence from you weekly. I may be slow but I will respond!! -

Hi! This will be my first year with lettermo but have been on Postcrossing for 4 years. I am a retired graphic designer who lives with my husband and 4 year old Burmese cat, Lily. I have been an oriental brush painter for 40+ years. I also enjoy watercolor, knitting, bookbinding, printmaking, fountain pens and fountain pen ink. Will happily correspond with people in the USA or across the world for February or throughout the year.

Hi!
I’m writing from Karlstad, Sweden. I am new to this adventure. I’m open to writing all year round. For right now though I’m just hoping to find some LetterMo friends and give this a go.
I’m 37 years old and me and my boyfriend are currently parents to three Maine Coon ladies. They are spoiled rotten. I like to read, I love to cook and have a newfound passion for lettering, journaling and anything really where I can put pen to paper.
Feel free to ad me! I will do my best! ♥️

Lyneen here from the beautiful Pacific NW! I live a ferry ride from Seattle, Washington USA. I am semi-retired. I left full-time work in 2021. Now I work part-time in my local scrapbook store. I love teaching and inspiring others to be creative. I have been Postcrossing since July 23.
I am looking to participate in the month-long challenge to write every day and responding to any letter I receive.
I hope to hear from you!

Hello from Portland Oregon. Greetings everyone! ????
I’m thrilled to meet more letter writers, potential pen pals, and happy mailers alike. I’m a middle aged married guy, subservient to two adult cats. Work full time and in school in the finance world.
This is my first LetterMo and I’m hoping to make more meaningful connections here.
My preferences for happy mail – long (perhaps essay-length?) letters, exchanged once a month with pen pals. I appreciate all happy mail, but I most love paper, stickers, and….now fountain pens. I got into fountain pens about six months ago and it’s been a fun adventure.
Happy mailing – and write on! ✍️

Hello from Leipzig, Germany.
I’ve been participating in LetterMo since 2015.
Although everyone says I’m 40 now – soley based on the fact I was born in 1984 – I’m 25 ???? . I love writing letters, have an unhealthy addiction to cute stationery and writing tools and cats are my favorite animals. I hope to be a cat in my next life.In September 2022 I became mother of a little girl – so my days are quite busy.
Although this year, I’m focusing on the existing penpals I still have, I’m open for new acquaintances. But please be aware, that I don’t have much time to write long and epic letters. I used to enjoy writing them but now I prefer writing short letters, folded cards or even postcards – everything that fits into naptime.
Shorter but more frequent ????P.S.: Love the new and shiny website!

Hi I’m Naoko from Japan. This is my first time participating in LetterMo and I am just so excited! I am not actively looking for pen-pals, but I wanted to exchange a few letters this past month. In other words, a bit of an adventure! Have a good LetterMo☺.

Hello! I’m Cathy from Canada’s capital of Ottawa, Ontario! I’m excited to participate in LetterMo and just did my first letter for the first of February. I have always enjoyed penpals and letter writing since I was a kid.
Tromping through the snow and wind to our outdoor mailboxes is so much more rewarding when there is something fun in the mailbox instead of junk or a bill.
Happy Writing, everyone!

Greetings! I’m writing from Switzerland. I love art – both making it and seeing it.
I’m always thrilled to hear the answer to any of these questions:
* What is an art museum I might want to visit if I was in your area?
* Who is your favorite visual artist? Why do you like their work?
* Who are local artists in your area you like?
Others:
* What should a visitor to your area check out that may not be obvious from tour guides?
* Have you ever been to Switzerland? If yes, what did you think? If no, do you have any interest in visiting? But I welcome whatever people want to share. I’m especially thrilled to receive postcards or some drawings on the letter or envelope.

Hello all,
My name is Jelly and I live in California. I am still learning to navigate this site and have never done an “official” letter month. Hopefully I can figure everything out in time to connect with a few people for February and beyond. My correspondence habits far outlast the interest of my friends and family, so that’s why I’m here. Postcards, letters, ephemera, poetry, art… it’s all wonderful.
Take care! -

Hello all,
This is my 4th(?) year of LetterMo. This year I’ll mostly be focusing on trying to catch up on penpal letters (apologies if you’ve written to me in the last year and I never wrote back), but I am open to new pen pals (women only please, thank you!). I write throughout the year but my replies are sometimes fast and sometimes slow.A bit about me:
37 years old
happily married
cat and guinea pig mom, no human children
Children’s Librarian
active in my church
outdoorsy, creative type
I like to write 2-3 page letters, happy to receive any lengthPlease let me know if you have any questions!

It’s here! I can’t believe it’s February! I’m Cathy. I live near Washington, D.C., with my husband and our son (except that he is a college student and is currently on campus). I’m a U.S. citizen but am working on getting dual citizenship so I can spend more time in Italy! I’ve been doing LetterMo for quite a few years now, and have found so many great pen pals through the site. Professionally, I’m a book author. My fiction is all under pseudonyms, including a couple of fairly well known ones (though I’m not allowed to tell you the most famous one, because the publisher wants you to think it’s a real person). Currently I am working on a new science fiction series that will be under my own name. I’d be happy to tell you more if you’d like to correspond. Or ask me about my travels, my genealogical research, or my Little Free Library. I hope to hear from some of you! Happy LetterMo!

Hi everyone!
I’m Mai! 30 from the East Coast. I joined 2 years ago and absolutely loved getting to know so many new people. Throughout the year, I’m mostly active on Postcrossing.
I’m spending this LetterMo writing back to penpals who I haven’t gotten a chance to respond to, and hopefully find a few more penpals. I’d love to exchange postcards or a short 1 page letter at first!
I’m a fan of mail art and using all kinds of stationery to decorate letters/cards. I have typewriters as well if you’re interested in receiving a typewritten note! -

Hello all! I am back after a couple year hiatus…sometimes life just gets in the way doesn’t it? I hope to reconnect with old friends and meet some new. I think I might be one of the few “postal” peaple on here. Started as a carrier in 1989, went up the ranks from Postmaster to now at HQ in Washington D.C. working on policy, boring things and such. Many times I wish I was still out there delivering…although it is hard on the body. Please always be kind to you delivery person, even when they seem grumpy…you never know when they have just been chased by a mean dog (turkey/bull/fill in the blank) or have an infected paper cut (equally as irritating). Enough asking for love for the carriers – I know most of you really appreciate them.
I love postcards! Easy way to put a smile on someones face is sending a random postcard. Or for the month of February, a handwritten letter. I would love to hear about your life, even the simplest thing such as your morning coffee/tea/breakfast routine. Or share a family tradition you love. Or something personal you love, song recipe, pet peeve, whatever.
Me:
I love
The Sunday Samuri Sudoku in the Sunday Washington Post
My 3 grown boys…nothing like hanging out with your adult children and drinking bourbon
Sports – but it’s pretty specific to my baseball & football teams…I am still a girl
Vintage just about anything, but have started to love mid-century modern
Travel – continual learning about new things, and beaches aren’t bad either
Art – I create, is it good? I don’t know, and don’t really care…that’s not the point
True Crime, tv crime…sometimes my kids laugh like I like all the murder shows, but I do love a good murder mystery or a plain ole CSI
Museums – I live in the city of all the free museums. I also visit museums when I travel (to be truthful, mainly it’s because I can find the best
postcards there 🙂 I love going on the docent tour and getting the real scoop on the art – I should do that more oftenI am happy for any snailmail received! I will happily respond to everything. Happy Month of Letters! xoxo

G’day to everyone from down under Australia where as each new day passes on by along the journey of life I tend to be inclined to want to use technology less and less and pen and paper more and more.
I have always been an avid lover of all things stationery and have been writing to penpals for many years. I enjoy being able to hold a letter in my hand and read it knowing that someone has taken time out of their busy day to think of me and put pen to paper to chat and share snippets of their every day life. Much as I would dearly love the chance to travel around the world realistically I might never get the chance so instead my next best option is being able to travel and get a glimpse of the world through being able to exchange letters and postcards. I look forward to when the month of February rolls around and everyone eagerly awaits the opportunity to spread joy around the world through the exchanging of letters and postcards. Long may the love of letter writing continue.
When I am not immersed in my love of all things stationery by writing letters, journaling, planning, fallen down the deep, dark hole that is fountain pens and attempting to dabble in all things paper craft related then I can often be found lost between the pages of a book reading, word puzzles, sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, growing sunflowers and continuing on my never ending quest to becoming more of a minimalist and living a slow and intentional life.
Happy to exchange both letters and postcards and always welcome new penpals who enjoy writing letters year round.
Happy LetterMo everyone.

Hello! My name is Eunice, and I’m from the Philippines ^-^ Currently, I’m a student, and somewhat of a dilettante for learning, so I really enjoy listening (reading?) to people talk about things they feel strongly about!
The first thing I’d ask is “what piece of media (book, film, game, etc.) made you feel very strongly? Talk about it as much as you want!”
I hope to learn new things through the people I meet. Take care always!

I am fashionably late this year! I had to completely reregister, the site did not know me. *SOB*
I’m Eleri, (yes, *that* Eleri…) I’m a bi poly pagan-esque crazy critter lady up in the Seattle area. I adore getting letters, and writing them, even though my dip pen skills often leave more ink on me than the page.
Five topics I can talk about for 30 minutes with zero prep:
1. Myst/D’ni
2. Birth- logistics and facts and/or Birth as a Heroic Journey
3. Basic Income
4. Gene events and neurodiversity- in general and in specific White Sutton Syndrome & Smith Magenis Syndrome
5. Labyrinths- This reply was modified 8 months ago by Eleri Hamilton.

I’m late to this but I just want to receive more snail mail and send it out. I’m from California and I just started postcrossing in November… ever since then my mailbox is much happier.
I’m a Golden State Warriors fan. I love music. I love going to Electronic Dance Music Festivals. And traveling would be my full-time job if I could afford it 🙂
Happy new Year to everyone!

Hello! I’m Hilpi, and at 65, I’m loving every moment of retirement! With three adult children and 34 years of marriage (he is the love of my life), family is the cornerstone of my life. Culture captivates me, and there’s nothing quite like the thrill of travelling, meeting new people, and immersing myself in unfamiliar experiences. Learning is my lifelong pursuit, and I eagerly embrace almost every chance to broaden my horizons. But what brings me the most joy is the simple pleasure of writing and receiving snail mail — there’s something so special about the connection found in those handwritten letters. What a wonderful idea this Letter Writing Month is!

Hi! I am from Texas, just outside of Austin. I am totally late to this group but I am so glad I learned about it! I will have to write some extra letters to catch up haha. I am getting married this May and need to practice my handwriting for the thank you letters ha. But I’ve always liked writing letters and was wanting to find people to write other than sending out holiday/birthday cards or an occasional note to someone.

Hello! I’m Hanna, 34 and from the North (ish) of England. I’m new to this group, but not to penpalling in general.
My main passion in life is reading. My favourite genre is fantasy, although I have a lot of favourite books from other genres too. I love reading, book shopping, going to book events, following new book releases, and pretty much anything else related to reading.
I live with my fiancé, our 8 month old son and our spoiled Bernese Mountain Dog. I’m a solicitor by trade, and I work in Child Protection and Mental Health Law. I also started a PhD last year!
I’m looking forward to meeting new friends to write to!

Hello! I’m Sonnia Jean!
I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, living in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I’m not new to LetterMo, but I can’t recall how many years I’ve participated, on and off. I’m a married 52-year-old mom of one son, stepmom of two kids, and fur mom of 2 tuxedo cats and one cavapoo puppy. I was born in a Roman Catholic Christian household but am now a practicing First Degree Eclectic Wiccan. I’m physically disabled, using a cane/walker when I walk. Sometimes, I convert my walker to a wheelchair when needed. Since 1989, I have loved writing long letters using my collection of fountain pens and inks. I prefer to exchange letters with international penpals because I collect their postmarked postage stamps, but I don’t shy away from domestic penpals. Let’s be friends here and exchange addresses.

Hello~
I’m Mary from Oregon, USA! I just joined LetterMo today and am excited to start writing and receiving correspondence! I’ve been happily married for 25 years with no children, but we’ve always had (very spoiled) pets. My profile pic is of our current “boys”, Charlie our 12 year old Tuxedo, and Franklin our not quite year old British Shorthair. I work in the construction field and in my off time I enjoy reading, knitting/crochet, gardening, traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with family & friends. I am in a local Whiskey group and have a decent home collection. I also volunteer at a local distillery a few times a year, which is super fun! I’m looking forward to making new Penpal friends, so feel free to reach out 🙂
