In spite of spending much of yesterday looking forward to today’s posting, I completely forgot about it until about 5:00 PM, with half an hour until the last pick-up from the mailbox nearest me (instead of the post office, where I usually go). It was chucking it down with icy rain, too, after a day that cycled through hail, sleet, rain, snow, and cold sunshine at 5 minute intervals.
All this to say that I grabbed a Cornwall postcard, scribbled a note to my friend Virginia, stuck on a stamp and an Air Mail sticker, and tore through the rain like a box-seeking bat in order to throw the be-splattered postcard unceremoniously into the mailbox.
Not my most graceful posting ever, but one all the same.
