Another Valentine, with another Art Pack of seeds, and three post cards thanking the recipients for their work that benefits the environment: one to the woman who coordinates the Amphibian Migrations and Road Crossings Project, which gets volunteers out on the first rainy nights after the temps remain in the 40s to count salamanders and frogs and help them across the road; one to the manager and board of the New York State Federation of Lake Associations, who help volunteers from across the state keep their lakes clean and healthy; and one to the chief of the Bureau of Water Assessment and Management of NY’s Department of Environmental Conservation. He’s actually on the NYSFOLA board, but I’m especially grateful for the way he communicates great buckets of information in an entertaining and fascinating way. Two of the pieces mailed from the PO in Stephentown; there used to be a sign up as you entered the town claiming it as the only Stephentown on Earth, but the sign disappeared some years ago. I don’t know if it was stolen, or another Stephentown made itself known.
