I’ve sent someone fan mail three times in my life. The first time, when I was quite young, I sent mail to Anne McCaffrey. I loved her books about Pern, and she was kind enough to respond with a note.

About a year ago I sent some fan mail to Brandon Sanderson. I love his work. I don’t expect a response, but of course that would be cool.

Today I sent fan mail to Patrick Rothfuss. He’s the reason I’m doing letter month – he posted about it and so I looked into it. Again, I don’t expect a response, but it would be pretty neat.
