I hustled to get my two pieces to the PO this morning before the snow started piling up — a handmade Valentine, with additional reply letter and a copy of my fountain-pen-ink sample sheet tucked inside, and a brief notecard. Since the Valentine was a local delivery, I could make the letters nice and puffy white without worrying if they’d be easily legible by machines or humans who won’t recognize the address right away. The letters were worked on by a large and small snowman, and aloofly ignored by a snow cat. Puffy clouds floated here and there, and puffy thought balloons carried the snowfolk’s comments on my inability to remember before plunging in to erase my guidelines that the green ink takes forever to dry.
