March On

Life After A Month of Letters

There are so many questions that plague us LetterMoians at this time of year:

  • How will I exist without sending one letter per day?
  • Will my mailbox be empty and joyless now that February has come to past?
  • What shall I use my stationery supplies for now?

Well, dear LetterMoians, we are happy to report that LetterMo “marches on.” We would remind all 2024 LetterMo participants of the second part of the LetterMo Challenge:

Write back to everyone who writes to you.

During March and following months, reply to those who wrote to you. In your reply, indicate whether you would like to keep the correspondence going, or if you only correspond in February. If you want to keep writing to a new friend, let them know.

If you have not yet received mail from someone who friend-requested you, perhaps jot them a short note or postcard. We never know what life circumstances might prevent us from completing the LetterMo Challenge or from dabbling in this wonderful hobby of connecting via snail mail.

Don’t forget that LetterMo also has a Reasons to Write calendar, which lists year-round official and unofficial excuses for sending mail.

What are some things you plan to do in the LetterMo off-season? How you keep up your correspondence habit?

March on, good LetterMoians!

  1. I have a few letters to respond to and I’ll write a card to all those on my friend list I haven’t yet corresponded with. I have made some great new penfriends through LetterMo this year.

    1. Jessica, after you have logged in to LetterMo, you can peruse the Membership list and request new penpals. Be sure to check people’s profiles first–some people will indicate on their profile that they only are interested in writing during February. There are plenty on the site that enjoy writing year-round, however, so don’t let the month stop you from getting into writing letters!
