It is totally cool to use Postcrossing--many of our folks do. The challenge isn't to write long letters, but to send something every day in the mail, whether that is a letter or a postcard.

I've been intending to start scanning the letters I've received, as space is limited in our apartment. I have not yet gotten around to it, though, and the folder waiting for scanning grows thicker.

Day 3: Sent 1 letter and 3 postcards Day 4: Sent 2 letters and 1 postcard, received my first piece of mail for LetterMo.

I forgot to post yesterday, I got one letter out for February 1. Two so far for February 2.

It is also a useful way to search for members in a particular country if you are looking to add international penpals or if you are interested in finding others in your own country to save on postage.

Here in Canada, we only get mail deliveries Monday-Friday. No Saturdays up here! We also have a LOT of postal holidays, corresponding with the statutory holidays.

Oof, that is expensive. If it was only 1/4 inch thick, it should have counted as a letter--perhaps you had an over-zealous clerk, or else this is the new plan to balance the USPS budget 🙂
