We LetterMoians love writing from the coziness of our letter writing dens. Do you have a special place at home, reserved for penning snail mail to beloved penpals?
Did you know that there are also several organizations and societies dedicated to the appreciation and cultivation of letter writing? Some host in-person socials, while some meet virtually. Read more to find out about an upcoming social event near you!
LetterMo: Save the Date!
LetterMo will host four virtual write-in socials on Saturday, February 7 and 21 at 14:00 UTC & 21:00 UTC each day. Writing social information will be posted in LetterMo Forums and in our private Facebook group; you must be a member and logged in to access the Forums.

Postcrossing MeetUps
According to its website, Postcrossing is “a project that allows you to send postcards and receive postcards back from random people around the world. Postcrossers occasionally host in-person meetups to collectively stamp commemorative meetup cards–later to be sent all over the world! To access information about Postcrossing meetups, you must have a Postcrossing account.
Login to Postcrossing and head to Explore > Meetups to find a nearby event to attend.
Directory of Letter Writing Societies
The Arizona Correspondence Society website notes that Society founder Megan Hillman created a directory of letter writing societies to assist snail mailers to find a local chapter to connect with. Check it out to learn more. Please note that some societies may be inactive.
What Else?
Now that you have learned about some writing socials, do you plan on joining any? Did we miss any writing socials that are going on close to you? Tell us about any plans you might have to host your own social.
We look forward to hearing from you in the comments.
