Join the LetterMo Team for 2026 and Beyond!

The Month of Letters is built on the dedication and creativity of our amazing volunteers, and we are looking for new teammates to help make the 2026 edition our best yet! Whether you’re passionate about governance, moderation, writing, or community engagement, we have a role for you!

Volunteering with LetterMo is a chance to connect with like-minded people, share your talents, and make a real difference in keeping letter writing alive and well. You’ll also get behind-the-scenes insights into how our global creative community operates.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the team and work together to make 2026 an amazing year for LetterMo! We’re recruiting for both ongoing leadership positions and 2026 edition role, although we are also open to anyone who wants to volunteer, even if the specific positions we’ve identified don’t match your skills. Here’s a closer look at the positions:

  • Board Treasurer (ongoing): The Treasurer manages our budget, tracks income and expenses, and provides regular reports to the Board. Perfect for someone who’s comfortable with numbers and cares about making sure our resources are used wisely. The Treasurer will work in close partnership with the Chair.
  • Editor (ongoing): Are you passionate about words and storytelling? The Editor curates, edits, and publishes blog posts, email newsletters, and other written content, ensuring our voice is consistent and our stories shine. You will also work in close collaboration with the graphic designer to ensure a consistent brand appearance. Ideal for someone with writing or editing experience.
  • Forum Moderators (2026 or ongoing): Help our forums run smoothly during the busy letter-writing season! You’ll greet participants, answer questions, and make sure conversations stay on track and are positive. This seasonal role is perfect for someone who can commit time during January and February, and is open for those who want to stick around year-round. The Lead Moderator (preferably ongoing role) will coordinate the work of our moderator team, help address any tricky situations, and ensure our Code of Conduct and community guidelines are followed.
  • Graphic Designer (2026 or ongoing): Bring LetterMo’s visual identity to life! As a Graphic Designer, you’ll create graphics for the website, blog, social media, and special projects like anniversary campaigns or merchandise. This role is a great fit for someone with an eye for design and a passion for making creative, welcoming visuals that celebrate the art of letter writing.
