How-to LetterMo, the basics

So you’ve heard about this really awesome challenge to send something via the postal service each day in the month of February, and you found your way here, and are thinking “now what?”

Here are the basics of how to get started with the Month of Letters challenge (February every year), and the LetterMo challenge (year-round).

  1. Register for the challenge*:
    1. Fill out the registration form https://lettermo.com/register
    2. Read the Code of Conduct https://lettermo.com/about/code-of-conduct/ 
    3. Read the Privacy Policy: https://lettermo.com/privacy/ 
    4. If you agree to B and C, submit your form.

* – Only the fields indicated in Red are required, however, the other fields are there to help participants find pen pals within the site, and you are strongly encouraged to fill those out when registering, or later.

  1. Activate your account
    1. Receive activation email *
    2. Follow link and activate account

* – LetterMo volunteers review each account prior to the activation email is sent. This process may take up to 7 days.

    1. Update your member Profile
      1. Sign in to the site
      2. Open your profile (can be found under “Members” in the menu)
      3. Edit profile – Keep it up to date, especially if you have a new mailing address.
    2. Find pen pals
    3. Get your supplies together
    4. Write and receive letters or other postal treats
    5. Have fun

    So that is the very simple version, heavy on getting active on the website, and light on the fun stuff and practical advice.
