Volunteer with LetterMo

Over the past few months, the LetterMo Admin Board has been working on several initiatives to improve and grow LetterMo, including the launch of a regular email newsletter, the development of year-round community programming, improvements to our volunteer management processes, and a renewed focus on strategic planning and governance. We’ve also had the chance to review the feedback from the annual participant survey, and the feedback we’ve received has reinforced the importance of creating a stronger year-round community experience.

To help support these efforts, we are currently looking for volunteers interested in serving on our Admin Board in the following positions:

  • The Secretary is responsible for helping keep the organisation running smoothly through meeting minutes, records management, and governance administration. This is a position we are hoping to fill sooner rather than later as we continue to formalise our processes and documentation.

  • We are also looking for someone interested in supporting strategic planning, organisational development, volunteer management, long-term growth, and compliance. The intention would be for the successful candidate to join as a Director-at-Large and work alongside the current Director of Strategy & Development throughout the year, gradually transitioning into the role following February.

No previous board experience is required for either role. What matters most is a willingness to contribute, collaborate, and help LetterMo continue to grow thoughtfully and sustainably. Training, support, and documentation will be provided.

We are also looking for non-Board volunteers. As we look to grow LetterMo to a year-round initiative, we are looking for forum moderators to help us moderate the new forum structure. You’ll help our new forum structure run smoothly throughout the year by greeting participants, answering questions, and ensuring conversations stay on track and are positive. We are also looking for some contributors to our editorial team to support our Editor. You’ll write long-form content destined for the blog and the up-and-coming email newsletter, including how-to articles, reviews of epistolary books, and other correspondence-related topics.

If any of these opportunities sound interesting or if you would like to volunteer in another capacity, we’d love to hear from you.
