Additionally to all the usual questions (such as age, profession, where they are from and what they like to do in their free time), I also love to ask about their drink of choice. Are they a coffee person? Are they a tea person? What type of tea? Do they add sugar? I think hot beverages give me a funny and interesting perspective on people.
By they way, if you were asking, I drink coffee with a little milk and no sugar (cortado as we say) and earl grey tea! I wonder what that says about me!

As for me, I like to look over their profile and find any common ground, or something I don’t know much about, and ask about it.
