A collaborative blog post

Use of aerogramme and letter folded-locked. – Leila F.
My cousin once received mail with a dead, dried frog stuck to the envelope. It actually made it through the post as it predated mechanical sorting machines. My penpal, Miguel does beautiful artwork and calligraphy on his envelops. I am always very careful opening them and keep them in a file once I’ve replied.

A postcard from Germany with lots of cute stickers all over it. – Anita E.
Many years ago I was involved in a strange items exchange to test what actually would arrive through the mail. A long-time penpal of mine sent a bra by itself through the mail, and it arrived entirely intact, with my mailing address taped very carefully into one bra cup. My mail carrier knocked on the door to hand it to me because he was laughing so much! ;D

I have received some totally covered in artwork or made out of magazine pages and those are always fun. – Fly46
A bra? A dried frog? Yikes! While I was not the recipient, our university library has a biscuit that a student sent to a friend in 1913 to complain about the food. You can see it here: https://ufdc.ufl.edu/UF00032099 My favorite letters are ones that are decorated and sealed with a wax seal. I open them so the seal remains intact (when I can). I am also learning how to fold my own envelopes from decorated paper – something I learned by receiving such correspondence from LetterMo pen pals.
